Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. This year I started my holiday preparations and craft projects early and I had most of my shopping done before Thanksgiving. I even wrapped a few gifts here and there to avoid staying up into the wee hours on Christmas Eve to finish wrapping, an annual tradition I wanted to break. We almost did it! There were just a few last minute things left to wrap and the stockings to fill before we could go to bed too. My hubby baked all the cookies and a yummy holiday bread this year which was so nice - and he did such a fine job I will insist he take it over next year as well.

I participated in an ornament swap this year for the first time and I enjoyed it so much I hope to do it again next year. It was simple, mail three handmade ornaments to three different people and receive three handmade ornaments from three different people. I love all the ornamnets I received, so unique. Here is my handmade ornament for the swap, I hope my three recipients enjoy them, I had alot of fun making them.

I also want to share these adorable mini cupcake ornaments that I made. I got the idea for these from the Bake it Pretty Blog where there is a detailed tutorial for them. I used wire and beads to add sprinkles to mine. They came out so sweet that I couldn't resist keeping a couple for myself, I will definately be making more of these next year.

Happy Holidays!

Once again it has been awhile since my last post. I have been so busy with family and work that I have had very little time to stamp, scrap or craft at all. Well the holidays have got me in a crafty mood so I've been trying hard to set aside some time to work on a few projects that I am making as gifts. I really wanted to give some handmade gifts this Christmas, other than the ones my kids make that is. After searching the web and through my collection of Martha Stewart magazines for some inspiration, I decided on a few projects and poof...crafting momma! I will post some pictures of all my little creations once they are completed, which hopefully should be very soon, but for now here is a card to enjoy...
Stamp by Inkadinkadoo.

I also wanted to share with you these adorable hair clips I made for my daughter. They were so much fun to make that I'm making more in a holiday theme. Can you believe that you bake the ribbon in the oven to get it to curl? I got the idea for these from Pamela Susan who has a great blog with super cute craft tutorials, including the one for these clips. I used my new brad maker to make the fabric brads.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you are enjoying this busy but magical season.

Yes, I am still here!

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted anything to my blog! I cannot believe the entire summer has passed since my last post, or my last class. It has been a warm and wonderful summer for myself and my family and we enjoyed every last bit of it. Although I was grateful to have no scheduled classes at Stamping Memories over the summer due to my crazy schedule, I did miss the creativity. Autum is close upon us and it is my favorite season of all. The brilliant colors really inspire me to be creative and begin new projects, gear up for the holidays and catch up on my scrapbooking. So that is why I am back! I will be teaching two classes in September and hope to see you then. Happy Stamping!

Brrrrrr....

...it's cold! Well, I guess winter is here to stay for awhile. Time to cozy up with some of those stamps hey? I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays, we sure did. We have had some construction going on at our home and all the craziness of the season so I have been a bit lacking in the crafting department. I am looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting back to my stamps and inks. I have some great classes scheduled for this month and I hope you will brave the cold and come on out to Stamping Memories for a class. Hope to see you there!

Here is a sample for this weeks brayer class. Can you believe what a Post-it can do?

Thanks, Julie D.
